The Weird One
Investigation into missing persons

Dhvaras One and Elynasi can’t stand the noise from below as Kip’s re-factoring of Torden’s ship gets into full swing. The little Kobold isn’t even any fun to watch because he ignores all of the Dhvaras’ jokes and bores even One with comments like “all work and no play” and “must pass inspection” and something about a demonstration for the Murlocs.

So the three head back to the city and to Sweet Potato Inn

When as they pass through The Lucky Coin Grody approaches Dhvaras to talk about a couple of Rats that have gone missing.

Grody informs the party in his curious way that Ren and Stin have gone missing when on a job to get some fancy books from “Book store called Enchants and Possesses”

Well the party learns through some investigation that the place is actually not a book store but a private collection located on the bottom floor of a private residence with a simple sign above the door “Librums on Enchants and Possessions” (Location: S20U24001)

The locals (including one vendor named Samanah) don’t even know the name of the owner. They just call him Mr. W. which apparently is short for Weird. Something it appears many people use to describe most anyone they run into in Rivelda.

So once the party learns that there has been something going on and they see a missing window on the basement of the Librums on Enchants and Possessions They head over to theTinkerer Pub owned and operated by Pluka.

Exposed to a sticky bun for the first time One and Elynasi are mesmerized by the thing. Wondering at first how to eat it and second why anyone would. But after sometime they meet up again with Samanah. This time around the vendor tells them that its bad business and that there has been some slayings below the Librum.

The city watch is called in and before long the place is locked up tight. Only that night the party returns to obtain some sample product for a potential client and to see if they can figure out what happened. The shop looks mostly intact except for some stuff moved aside to reveal a trap door. Looking around the room the party hears a loud scratching of metal on wood from down below. Something is down there and its trying to get out.

Something they can’t imagine the city guard just left behind. So standing around the door inspecting an orange and listening carefully the trop door flies open and rush of hatred and evil fills the room. Pressing down up the will power of the party. But not enough they trio unloads. Next is the sequence of combat in their fierce intense short battle with the demon.

Fight with Type I Nighttime Demonic Manifestation
Segment 1: The door flies open and the party is drained of 3 EGO.
Segment 2: The Dhvaras readies a knife and the others get into position
Segment 3: Dhvaras throws his knife striking the creature in its left foot. (1 Body and 1 Stun get through its thick hide)
Segment 4: Elynasi thrusts down with his spear into the creatures chest (3 Body and 21 Stun. The creature is (Stunned).
Segment 5: One’s double blades strike out hitting the demon in the back and right thigh. (5 Body and 28 Stun get through its defenses and its (KOed.)

Following through Elynasi drops down into the chamber below stabbing his spear into the creatures heart. The first blow fails to puncture the thick hard hide, but the second thrust rips through the hide as the great Sea Elf stabs with all his might. The demon’s eyes spring open as it spews forth a vile term of hatred into the cold night air. As it returns to its realm and is cast back into the Abyss its demonic force bleeds out into the spear head and shaft of Elynasi’s spear. The tainted weapon tingling in his hands.

Asking for his knife back Dhvaras realizes as the weapon is passed up to him on the level above that it to has been changed.

The effects of the demonic death enchant remain an element to investigate but the fate of the owner of the “Librum” and the two would be night stalker thieves is pretty clear. The demon must have killed them and the guard hauled off the remains of their desiccated and half eaten bodies.

Nightmares For Everyone
Second Session of Avergene

Dhvaras, Kip, Elynasi, and Torden all meet up once again at the Wilton Strikton’s Storage.

Torden is sure there has to be some way to make money today. Afterall, all they have done so far is steel a war machines and drink beer.

Sitting in the gloomy storage unit suddenly the lights come on. The headlights of course. The war machine is alive.

At this point in its operation its supposed to recieve detailed instructions from the owner/operator. However, the party just stares at it. So after a while they cover it with some cloaks to hide the bright lights.

Then outside Dhvaras overhears the local fisherman going on about something unussual that Captain Tenus has found. The good captain of the small craft he lovingly calls The Water Mark and one of his crew are hauling their magnificant catch.

A Murloc.

Only its not dead! The thing wakes up just as Elynasi comes sprinting across the docks pushing people aside just in time to save one of the fisherman from being stuck through with his own harpoon. Elynasi’s coral shield serving as a solid defense against the creatures thrust.

Then leaping onto another nearby boat Dhvaras throws a knife sticking into the creatures arm. The knife wound is minor but the creature is infuriated in its fear. It leaps across on to ship.

Just as it leaps into the air in answer to what only can be a prayer muttered by the Dwarf as he climbs the mast a bolt of lightning strikes down upon the creature knocking is unconscious. As the creature lands with a solid thump onto the deck Elynasi makes the leap onto the boat and finishes the creature with a spear thrust into its heart.

With the emergency ended the fisherman’s guild master gives some insight into this thing. A Murloc. It means an infestation of them along the coast. A matter for the The Brothers of Malikai to address. Bounties will be likely for each Murloc head.

As Torden beings to multiple the bounty by the number of heads he’s sure he can take he realizes he’ll need a ship. The Pristine Chapel sits empty awaiting a crew. Yet something seems to be wrong with the thing. Tenus will tell the story for an ale.

“You see Stronbong purchased the damned thing. Only he didn’t recon on it being haunted.”
“If’n you find Stronbong you’ll likely be able to get a deal out of him I would be thinking.”

So off to find Stronbong. It doesn’t take Dhvaras long with his contacts to find Levar Stronbong staying in Coopers Landing. They party then heads off to negotiate. Anyone who might want the Chapel is a welcome visitor to Levar. Soon the party has him engaged in negotiations with Torden making the deal.

A deal is struck and for 350gp they can have the ship. Only you see Torden doesn’t have the money. An infuriated Stronbong angrily asks them to leave and stop wasting his time. When Dhvaras smooth talks his way past the moment and takes over negotations.

Torden doesn’t like it and starts to but in.
Dhvaras says as politely as you please, “The best thing you can do right now is to shut up.”

So the negotiations are completed 50gp down and 50gp per month for six months and the haunted ship is yours. Of course no one knows the value of a ship and no one really considers the cost of the maintenance of such a vessel. But the purchase is had.

So off they head now to the second money pit they have invested in. They decide its best to sleep on board for the night and see what all the fear is about.

A lowsy nights sleep filled with nightmares is all they have to show for it.
But still their spirits are high. A ship in working order (albeit haunted) and Murlocs to hunt for profit.

Round the next day they decide they better do some research on Murlocs and getting rid of ghosts. While kip begins the job of outfitting the ship.

Abandoned Luggage
What's inside the box

The city of Rivelda is a place of bustle and complexity. The 150,000 people don’t even hardly notice when four strange characters meet up at the Lucky Coin.

Failing to notice the dramatic flaws in each other they form up into a party. Their mission, theft of course.

Together they all seem to notice a box on the dock and no one is paying it enough attention. Fortunately for them its abandoned. Unfortunately for the owner they take it for their own.

“Has to be valuable”, says Torden.

So together they drag the 6′×6′×5′ box over to load it on a cart that Kip somehow manages to be pulling on his tip toes.

Inside the run down storage unit they rent by the hour.?.? They unpack their new box. What do they find inside? Well they aren’t sure. Looks like a “war machine” says Dharvas. Shinny, i’m sure i can get it work, says Kip.

Will they get it out before the owner of the storage unit auctions the contents from lack of payment?
Will kip get what ever is inside the box running?

No one knows but for now the cart, box, and spare parts are layed out inside the storage unit with Kip scratching his head through his wood grain stained cowl.

Meanwhile, Torden and Elynasi head out to rent a place to stay. So they can setup a base of operations.

The Sweet Potato inn may be just the place.
“Unfinished third floor you say.”
“Sounds perfect.”
We’ll I can rent the third floor if you finish off the construction up there. (Of course Hirkal the owner hasn’t shown them the plans he has for the place.

So with rental agreement in place and box full of stolen advanced technology, believed to be some form of Munitions, sitting in a run down storage unit in a town bustling with thieves and merchants the party is ready for their next move.

Kip better get this thing running by mid day or there will be hell to pay. And him without any power converters. He’ll likely to be in that storage unit rather than down at Kobtown goofing off with his friends for a long time.

Lets just hope owner doesn’t go looking for the box they “lost” or they’ll likely get a chance to meet Kob tech in person.
